support.About the Role: Teach into the Bachelor of Songwriting and Music Production and imbedded courses within the department of Arts, Education and Agritech.This is a casual position with teaching and teaching-related duties accounting for the majority of the time.Collaborate with academic staff to support and maintain a high-quality student learning experience for domestic and international students.Duties: To deliver the curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies and platforms including online.To prepare learning and teaching materials (lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops, practical classes, etc).To adopt appropriate learning strategies having given due consideration to the length of the session, subject intended learning outcomes, and the characteristics and needs of the student body.To communicate effectively with students and respond appropriately to their needs To ensure appropriate student participation in the teaching and learning process in classes, exercises, case studies, etc To ensure that the Course and Subject Learning Outcomes are efficiently and effectively delivered.To ensure that curriculum content, learning materials, and curriculum delivery give positive images of minority groups.To contribute to program induction and quality assurance of programs as required by the Head of Program.To participate as required in the development of the curriculum ensuring that its content is relevant to current and future industry needs.To develop and maintain the online Learning Management System (LMS).The LMS platform at Melbourne Polytechnic is referred to as Moodle as requested by the HoP or subject coordinator.To develop a variety of fair, valid, reliable, accurate, professional and rigorous assessments at the appropriate level for subjects.To ensure that all assessments are fairly marked and graded and that there is consistency between grading.To develop and implement subject marking framework for assessments that clearly articulates the requirements and expectations to students.To meet the deadlines set for the return of work to students and provide feedback in keeping with the Higher Education Assessment, Credit and Moderation Policy and related Procedures.To utilize those methods of assessment most appropriate to the curriculum content and learning outcomes, and as agreed by the must hold a minimum Master's degree (or approved equivalent) in a field of education, relevant to the degree they are lecturing in.Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check.A record of academic excellence, evidenced by previous experience in teaching at a tertiary level in the discipline represented.Experience of teaching and developing course materials, especially as related to online, flexible and blended learning environments.Demonstrated ability to develop subject materials and design and deliver curriculum and assessment materials for higher education programs.A developing record of research and publications such as major research monographs, and or edited books, articles in refereed journals, research reports or equivalent project-based research.Significant relevant professional and industry experience in an area related to the degree qualification.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to liaise well with other academics and executives and to represent the Department on various boards and committees within the Institute.Knowledge of specialized topics relevant to the degree
