About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer at one of our affiliate companies, you will be responsible for managing engineering and production processes of jobs from quoting stage to completion.
Main Objective
Responsible for planning, scheduling, NC programming, purchasing, follow-up, liaising with customers, suppliers and coordinating with other team members during entire production process.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Review quotation and purchase order information (provide assistance to Estimator during quotation process if required). Enter sales order and set up jobs in ERP system.
2. Process CAD information using AUTOCAD to put through FAST CAM package to generate NC Programs to relevant machines. Convert 3D drawings to 2D if relevant.
3. Calculate material required and check availability of stock (obtain quote & source material if necessary).
4. Keep system job entries up-to-date. Transfer relevant NC programs to machines. Issue Job Card to Workshop.
5. Constantly follow progress of jobs, check engineering, tooling and quality. Ensure completed job complies with customer requirements.
6. Liaise with customers regarding job completion and delivery status.
7. Coordinate with Accounts and Production Manager to ensure jobs are shipped and invoiced upon completion.
8. Conduct job analysis on time, cost, quality and materials. Make any changes/improvements as required for future jobs.
9. Liaise with other team members regarding current jobs, quoted/potential jobs, production issues relating to machines, operators, material etc.
10. Other indirect tasks as directed by Manager including: coordinating IT services with HO; changing crystal report in Ml to suit our application; suggest Improvements/streamline processes; provide customer information to team members to assist with obtaining future work.

* Knowledge and experience in cutting and forming processes.

* Understand and utilise computer technology (AUTOCAD / FASTCAM).
