What You'll be Doing The EAP Counsellor will provide a variety of services as part of the LHD Employee Assistance Program including short-term, confidential, solution-focused counselling across a range of presenting issues for all LHD based staff and their families; stakeholder liaison and collaboration with other LHD business units, consultancy with Managers at every level towards addressing work-related issues, promoting employee wellbeing, and trauma support (post incident), advisory and counselling to staff when required. This position assists the LHD meet the requirements of "Employee Assistance Programs: NSW Health" (PD2016_045) and ACHS Accreditation standards. An AHPRA registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Social Worker with a minimum of 5 years' experience who has eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) or Australian Psychological Society (APS):Psychologist: Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia or eligible for same and completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas). Clinical Psychologist: Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent. Social Worker: A social work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Demonstrated experience in providing high quality clinical short-term interventions to address a broad range of personal and work-related issues, via a number of modalities (e.g.: face to face, phone, online). Demonstrated experience in providing critical incident support and psychological first aid with both individuals and groups following a traumatic work-related incident or event. Demonstrated experience providing high quality solution-focussed clinical services that includes effective and proactive problem-solving skills, the ability and confidence to relate well with people at all levels of an organisation, and have a strong passion for psychological wellbeing. Demonstrated ability as a committed team member to work collaboratively, openly and respectfully within a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health Professionals, including the ability to both support and empower the EAP service and team towards high quality clinical services. Highly developed ICT skills adequate for general business and service improvement including report writing, clinical case management, program/project development, seminar presentations, online platforms and app-based programs and other organisational activities. Knowledge and understanding of the needs of the diversity of cultures represented in the LHDs, and the implications of a multi-cultural society within the workplace. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
