This is an Australian based, privately owned Civil Engineering consultancy with offices in Northern Territory and Queensland. They provide high quality engineering and project management solutions in urban and regional land, housing and civil infrastructure projects to public and private sector clients.
The Opportunity
Delivering a range of significant civil engineering projects, you’ll be involved in shaping civil infrastructure in the Northern Territory. You’ll be part of a community focused group who values teamwork, trust, integrity and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will typically include:
1. Managing projects with support of a senior civil engineer
2. Managing clients and other relationships to meet deliverables
3. Feasibility studies, conceptual & detail designs & engineering calcs
4. Providing technical advice on pavement, stormwater, flood modelling, water / wastewater and ESCP designs
5. Managing design and documentation to quality standards
6. Developing tenders incl technical specifications, quantities & estimates
7. Preparing design reports and undertake safety in design assessments
8. Liaising with relevant authorities to obtain necessary approvals
9. Undertaking construction inspection and certification services
10. Project forecasting and status reports for management
11. Assisting development of fee proposals for projects
12. Coaching junior engineering staff
Key Skills & Attributes
Your qualifications should include:
1. EA recognised Degree in Civil Engineering, or similar
2. 5-10 + years exp in delivery of civil engineering projects
3. Exp in roads, intersections, site works, subdiv. & general civil works
4. Exp. in project management of civil design projects
5. Technical expertise in Australian design standards
6. Strong in technical report writing, specs & bid/tender documents
7. Ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
The following (whilst not essential), will be considered favourably:
1. Relationships with local clients and authorities
2. Understanding of local engineering standards
3. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), or ability to obtain CPEng
4. Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
5. Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC)
6. Proficiency with AutoCAD and 12d
