5 Weeks Annual Leave & Salary PackagingAbout the Team The Alfred Health Speech Pathology Department is a co-ordinated service across all of Alfred Health which includes The Alfred Hospital; Caulfield Hospital; and Sandringham Hospital.
This position is based in the Rehabilitation and Aged Care Units at Caulfield Hospital.
About the Role To provide a high-quality speech pathology assessment and management of inpatients in the rehabilitation and aged care settings and the Better@Home program presenting with disorders of communication, swallowing and cognition.To contribute to the development of the Speech Pathology Department through participation in ongoing professional development, research and quality activities.To be involved in education, training and supervision of AHA staff and students.To develop sound working relationships with a range of staff internal and external to Caulfield Hospital including team members, community providers and university staff.Duties Ensuring excellence in Speech Pathology practice within the Aged Care and Neurological Rehabilitation Units.Ensuring that clients are provided with high quality assessment and management of communication, swallowing and cognitive disorders.Ensuring that skills and performance are continually developed through participation in formal and informal education and supervision sessions.Supporting and participating in the development and implementation of a staff performance management system in line with hospital policy and procedures.Providing the clinical management of in-patient and ambulatory Speech Pathology services in the Neurological Rehabilitation and Aged Care settings.Providing high quality clinical supervision of undergraduate speech pathology students within the Neurological Rehabilitation and Aged Care settings.Skills & Experience Qualifications A recognised degree in Speech Pathology.Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.Experience A minimum of 3 years experience, some of which will be in Aged Care, Acute or Sub-acute settings.Proven clinical experience, some of which will be in the provision of treatment to the adult population.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.Evidence of previous involvement in the development, implementation and evaluation of Quality Improvement strategies.Previous student and staff supervision, together with videofluoroscopy experience would be highly desirable.Benefits Salary Packaging & Novated Leasing through Maxxia.Flexible Health Insurance coverage through HCF Health Insurance.On-site car & bike parking opportunities, Deducted Pre-Tax!Fantastic onsite fitness facilities at The Alfred through ProSport Health and Fitness.Child Care Services at The Alfred managed by KU Children's Services.If applicable, specify specific requirements that you require in the cover letter or CV.
