Are you active, sporty, and passionate about supporting people with a disability to achieve their potential in the great outdoors? Come join the team at genU Adventure! GenU Adventure runs multiple activities such as surfing, stand up paddle boarding, bush walking, sport programs, fitness, bike riding, canoeing, and many more. We are looking for Day Service Practitioners to join our longstanding, purpose-driven, and values-based organisation to make a real difference in people's lives in and around Geelong. You’ll challenge them to work towards achieving something you never knew was possible. As a Day Service Practitioner you will:
* Support our clients while encouraging learning through adventure-based, skill-building activities, empowering participants to push beyond their boundaries and reach their full potential.
* Support our clients to undertake a range of daily tasks including personal and self-care, eating, and maintenance of personal hygiene.
* Be proactive in promoting community inclusion through following up on community-based opportunities for our participants, based on their interests and hobbies.
* Assist our clients to participate as much as possible in community activities independently or with active support. You will support clients in varying shift staff to client ratios from 1:1 or 1:4.
* Build on a person’s physical health, positive communication skills, teamwork, social skills, self-confidence, and mind wellness.
About You
We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our ideal Disability Day Services Practitioner will:
* Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity, and respect to participants' abilities, strengths, and circumstances.
* Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
* Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes, and documents as required.
* Have proven knowledge and skills in a wide range of sports and outdoor-related activities.
* Have experience supporting clients with varying levels of support requirements and behaviours.

You will need the following:
* Certificate IV in Disability and Outdoor Recreation or equivalent;
* Current First Aid and CPR Training.
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain;
* Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain;
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
