Techforce has partnered with a leading client in the mineral sands industry and is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team.
This full-time permanent position offers the opportunity to manage key electrical assets and instrumentation systems, with a focus on strategic capital projects and complex troubleshooting.
You will work closely with the Production, Maintenance, and T&I departments to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of critical equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and support for electrical and instrumentation (E&I) capital projects.Manage long-term electrical assets and instrumentation systems, including HV/LV equipment, motors, and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).Perform complex troubleshooting and electrical circuit design as needed.Ensure plant governance and compliance with Australian E&I standards and statutory equipment requirements.Oversee project management, governance, and CAPEX projects to ensure timely delivery.Develop and manage medium-long term E&I asset management plans for business objectives.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of major plant E&I issues and provide solutions.Collaborate with Mechanical/Maintenance Engineers and the E&I Supervisor to maintain optimal system performance.Manage change processes and utilize SAP for asset management and process documentation.Administer budgets for E&I programs and identify cost-saving opportunities.Lead the development of lifecycle cost analysis for asset strategy optimisation. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.Extensive experience with high voltage/low voltage equipment, motors, VSDs, and E&I systems in a processing plant environment.Strong knowledge of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, and weight transmitters).Experience in project management, CAPEX projects, and overall asset management.Familiarity with SAP and governance processes related to electrical and instrumentation systems.CPEng registration is advantageous.Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency preferred; however, Visa holders will be considered.Valid C-Class driver's license and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
