About the role
IHMS is looking for an experienced registered nurse to work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary Drug and Alcohol (D&A) team in Northam, WA
In this role you will be responsible to deliver and maintain D&A services to people residing in the Immigration Detention facility.
Key responsibilities
1. Assessment and support interventions for individuals with D&A use and concerns
2. Administer medications and immunisations as prescribed and/or in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-initiated medication guidelines
3. Conducting urine drug screens, vital observations, other clinical tests, and health monitoring for patients with D&A use and concerns
4. Conduct initial and periodic clinical assessment of patients
5. Support the delivery of opioid substitution treatment program (OSTP)
6. To assess, plan and implement appropriate health management
About you
7. Current AHPRA registration as a Div. 1 Registered nurse
8. Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in clinical nursing
9. Current First Aid and/or CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
10. Detention or corrections experience desirable.
11. Experience in drug and alcohol nursing including OSTP dosing of patients – highly desirable
12. Full and valid working rights in Australia
