About the role
The Symptom and Urgent Review Clinic (SURC) provides a pathway for the rapid assessment, symptom and psychological support to patients and their families, receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) as well as disease related symptoms. The role also supports in the facilitation of educational and learning opportunities for oncology nurses and collaborates internally across a variety of stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities
* Patient assessment and triage of planned and unplanned calls from patient/ carers for symptom advice and management
* Assessment, triage and management of clinical presentation for symptom review and support
* Lead and develop the SURC service in collaboration with key stakeholders
* Support patients receiving SACT across various oncology services both locally and within the Grampians region
* Deliver education services to both patients and staff
* Support and promote oncology nursing leadership within the Directorate
Skills and Experience
* Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
* Significant recent oncology/haematology experience
* Demonstrated understanding of the needs of patients receiving SACT
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Highly developed communication skills
* Advanced level computer skills
* Ability to work autonomously
* Team player

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 4B (ZJ4), $54.51 per hour.
