We currently have an exciting opportunity for a SCADA and Automation Engineer to join our Applications and Products Team. Based in our Melbourne or Sydney office, the successful candidate will lead regional automation support, working within a nationwide team and leveraging the support of a global business.
Your Responsibilities:
As the Regional Lead in SCADA and Automation, you will:
1. Analyse client requirements to develop tailored SCADA and automation solutions.
2. Provide engineering services for SCADA integration, RTU configuration, and automation system deployment.
3. Assist customers with their day-to-day engineering and application support requirements.
4. Conduct product updates, training, and workshops for customers.
5. Prepare application guides and technical documentation.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to SCADA and automation.
You will have the opportunity to enhance your existing skills and develop new ones through local and international training, including programs led by the Siemens Power Academy.
Your Qualifications:
You should have relevant qualifications or experience in electrical, electronics, automation, or software engineering or demonstrated experience in SCADA and automation systems within the power or industrial sectors.
For this role, you ideally will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
1. Siemens SICAM automation platform, including ToolBox II or Device Manager software and A8000 hardware platform, OR
2. High-level expertise with an equivalent SCADA and Automation platform.
Additionally, you should have:
1. Strong understanding of communication systems and protocols, including Ethernet, SDH, IEC 61850 station and process bus, DNP 3, Modbus, and IEC 60870.
2. Experience in networking topologies and integration of automation solutions.
