The role
In the newly created role of Workplace Trainer, you will enjoy delivering structured training programs and supporting Suncare employees to gain the required skills and competencies (including clinical skills and competencies) to provide high quality care. Your focus will be on delivering both theoretical and practical training, with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety. Your contribution to ensuring Suncare is equipped to meet regulatory standards and uphold the values of person-centred care will be essential and valued!
This opportunity is available on a permanent full-time basis (Monday to Friday), based at our Maroochydore office. Travel to our regional offices will be required on a regular basis.

In joining our People and Culture team, you will report to the Manager – Talent and Capability and your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting assessments to measure employee competencies before and after training using tests, practical demonstrations, and observations.
* Collaborating with leaders to define job-specific competencies essential for optimal performance and identifying knowledge gaps through assessments and feedback.
* Providing ongoing support and mentorship to help employees meet and exceed competency benchmarks while staying updated on industry standards and best practices.
* Work with the People and Culture team to understand and integrate training requirements into the Suncare Training Matrix for effective tracking and reporting.
* Delivering high quality, engaging training sessions (classroom, virtual, and on-the-job) using diverse instructional methods to accommodate various learning styles and in line with the Training Needs Analysis requirements.
* Organising refresher courses and workshops in partnership with stakeholders to maintain up-to-date employee knowledge and skills.
* Designing, delivering and assessing training to equip future trainers, ensuring their proficiency in instructional design and adult learning principles, along with ongoing coaching for continuous improvement.
* Evaluating training effectiveness to assess competency growth and performance improvements and prepare detailed reports outlining competency development (including clinical), training outcomes and recommendations for future training initiatives.
What you will bring to our team:
First and foremost is your passion to build the skills and capabilities of our greatest asset: our Suncare team! You will also possess:
* Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or similar.
* Professional registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), or equivalent.
* Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams) and an ability to work with and embrace current and new technologies.
* Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and confidently deliver engaging training materials (e.g., workshops, presentations, e-learning).
* Proven ability to assess learning outcomes and measure the effectiveness of training.
* Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable way.
* Empathy, patience, and adaptability to respond to changing task requirements in an enthusiastic and positive way.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple training programs, materials, and schedules and ensure deadlines are met and training is completed on time.
* Understanding of workplace safety and legal compliance relevant to the training environment.
* Desirable, but not essential, is knowledge of relevant industry reforms and familiarity with My Aged Care Workforce Learning Strategy 2023.
