Role Details
In this role you will work within a team to respond to the needsof children and their families by undertaking high quality casemanagement in accordance with statutory guidelines.
This is a unique opportunity to assist families by working inpartnership with them to support the safe return of their childrento their care and to work directly with children in care to assuretheir development, stability and security at all times.
About You
We are looking for a motivated, organised individual who has theability to understand factors that contribute to child abuse withinthe context of child development, parenting, family andenvironmental factors and confidently apply this understanding toyour work and the decisions you make.
You need to be a good communicator and have the ability todevelop strong networks with key professionals and families. Youwill also have the ability to apply culturally sensitive childprotection practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanderpeople, and community from culturally and linguistically diversebackgrounds.
About the Pool
Should you be successful, you will be advised (in writing) thatyou have been recommended onto this pool. The pool will remainactive for 12 months and during this time you may be contacted foran offer of employment. You are not required to accept any or alloffers made to you, and DCP is not obliged to offer you anyopportunities.

Special Conditions
AHP: A degree level qualification inSocial Work which gives eligibility for full membership of theAustralian Association of Social Workers.
PO: Appropriate degree qualification inCommunity Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health orrelated field.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanderdescent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do nothave the essential qualification, may apply for and beengaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitledto apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring aqualification in Social Work within the Department for ChildProtection (DCP).
To be appointed directly to the AHP2 level, successfulcandidates must demonstrate increased professional expertise,competence and experience to perform any standard professional taskwithin the discipline. Candidates will have also attainedgreater specialised knowledge within the discipline, which enablesthem to provide professional services to client groups incircumstances requiring increasingly complex practiceskills.
