Accountant - CPA

Working within the freighting industry in small high performing team, this is a position you can put your stamp on!!!
Responsibilities
• Managing Payments made from bank including payments listing, matching remittances and following up on invoice disputes
• Month end journals including accruals and prepayments
• Reconciliation of Profit and Loss and Balance sheet ledgers
• Payroll processing including payroll tax calculations, lodgements and End of year Payroll Single touch Finalisation
• Superannuation variance analysis and Superstream payments
• Monthly PAYG calculation and lodgement
• Annual leave Accrual journal
• Quarterly BAS calculation and lodgement
• Updating the Australian Bureau of Statistics data
• Maintenance of the truck Asset Register, Depreciation schedule and sale of assets including profit recognition.
• Maintenance of truck finance schedules and interest calculations
• Workers compensation premiums and claims handling
• Maintenance of truck accident claims and Toll Incident claims
• Preparation of Monthly Truck P&L Analysis
• Maintenance of the Caltex and BP fuel cards
Skills and Experience
• Relevant Accounting Qualification
• CPA Qualification
• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting with sound knowledge of accounting standards
• High attention to detail
• Proficient with MS Office including advanced Excel
• A strong work ethic
It is essential that you are a team player and have accounting experience using MYOB including ‘hands on’ experience managing payroll. CA / CPA qualifications or working towards. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential with the ability to liaise with people at all levels.
