City of Canada Bay Council’s values underpin how we operate: We act with integrity; We empower our people; We are respectful; We work together; We innovate. • About the role Our Sustainability Team is expanding and we are looking for a motivated team player to join our passionate and energetic team to deliver environmental projects and programs On a daily basis you will deliver projects identified in Council’s Operation plan, Environmental Strategy, Emissions Reduction Action Plan, Urban Tree Canopy Strategy, Litter Strategy, draft Climate Strategy and Biodiversity Strategy. Some of the main priorities of the role include: - Environmental and climate resilience reporting - Delivering community environmental programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions - Supporting Council teams internally to improve corporate environmental sustainability - Developing and implementing a program of environmental workshops • About the person You will come to us with: - 1-2 years practical work experience in the field of environmental sustainability, natural resource management or have similar transferable skills. - tertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to environmental or sustainability fields. - excellent communication skills including the confidence to deal with the community and other departments within the organisation. - the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment with a high degree of computer literacy - demonstrated experience in project management and the ability to undertake several successful projects simultaneously - highly developed organisational skills and exceptional time management - ability to analyse data, manage databases and prepare reports for environmental management using a variety of computer programs You will be motivated, passionate and willing to learn new skills.
