We are leaders in our communities in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Coffs Harbour, and the Gold Coast and pride ourselves on helping shape a better tomorrow.About the opportunitySouthern Cross University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the areas of Engineering Systems (with specialisations in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, and Agricultural Engineering), Information Technology, and Science (with specialisation in Environmental and Earth Systems, Marine Systems, Forest Systems, and Regenerative Agriculture).The Faculty is seeking a Lecturer in Engineering project management, with a focus on research in one or more of the following areas: BIM (Building Information management/modelling), renewable energy, robotics, manufacturing systems, agricultural systems, construction, and/or asset management.In this role, your key responsibilities will include:Delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences and contributing to curriculum design and delivery within your discipline, with the possibility of course coordinator responsibilities.Undertaking innovative curriculum development and leading engaging learning activities.Enhancing the Faculty’s research profile by publishing in high-quality journals and securing competitive grant funding.Participating in community and professional engagement activities that elevate the University and Faculty’s reputation and priorities.About youYou will be a promising early career academic with a passion for fostering innovation in teaching, research, and curriculum development. More specifically, you will have:A PhD in engineering with demonstrated expertise in engineering project management, relevant to the Faculty's programs.A strong research track record, evidenced by publications in top-tier journals, successful supervision of postgraduate students, and competitive research grant success in areas such as BIM, manufacturing systems, renewable energy, robotics, agricultural systems, sustainable construction, or asset management.Proven excellence in teaching within a contemporary university environment, including the effective use of educational technologies in blended and online settings.Evidence of active contributions to research collaborations, professional partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.Experience in Engineers Australia accreditation processes is desirable but not essential.Salary and benefitsOur staff benefit from flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work models, generous parental and carer’s leave provisions, wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programs, and professional learning opportunities. The base salary ranges from $110,611 - $130,814 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation.
