Due to our announced expansion, we have a need for experienced like-minded professionals to join our team. Thomas Embling Hospital is a secure Mental Health, currently 134 bed, hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation, and continuing care programs. With planned expansion commencing 2024 with significant increase in access to care, we will have a dedicated Women’s service and an additional medium secure men’s facility. Now is the time to join us!About the Role:The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) works closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead and coordinate the nursing team.You will deliver consumer based mental health nursing interventions as well as coordinate the resources and processes required to maintain a high standard of patient care through effective clinical leadership.Practicing within a recovery framework you will use sound judgement to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and maintain a high standard of patient care.In collaboration with the NUM, you will support the team to:work within organisational policies and procedures and professional standardspromotes staff education and developmentparticipates in the training and supervision of nursing staff and studentsYou will effectively manage resources on a shift and oversee the activities of the unit when the NUM is absent.This is an excellent opportunity for Registered Psychiatric Nurses with an interest in management and service development to step into a leadership position. About You:Has a demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery and a thirst to keep learning!Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments of mentally ill patients, plans, implements and evaluates nursing interventions.Has sound communication skills with the ability to engage constructively. You want to make a difference.You share information on clinical matters with colleagues and team members to support the delivery of best practice and most appropriate service outcomes.
