As a hands-on Solution Designer, you're responsible for discovery and producing high-level solution designs by consulting with architects, tech/business stakeholders, and external providers such as Schemes and supporting engineers to build the required capability. You will also engage with various stakeholders and become an expert in your domain whilst supporting the broader engineering community. The Digital and Consumer Finance technology team works with the business team in transforming the business vision into reality by planning and delivering the projects along with our strategic partners. Work in a fast-paced and agile environment, contributing to major transformation programs and supporting the Digital & Consumer Finance technology systems in Originations and Servicing. Key accountabilities: Leading, driving, exploring options, being creative and basically doing what it takes to achieve a quality Solution Design. Takes ownership of the overall end-state for solutions, create designs that meet Westpac standards to provide reliable, stable, and operationally sound solutions that meet business requirements while adhering to architectural principles and industry best practices. Supports the solution architect in understanding current state and impacts of solution architectures for programs, projects etc. Convert requirements into architectures and solution designs that make up the blueprint for a solution for projects that do not require involvement from a solution architect. Lead alignment of end-to-end design developed by different teams and ensure that it meets business requirements. Accountable for build, test and implementations. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure alignment, effective communication, and seamless delivery of solutions. Create clear and concise documentation, including design documents, sequence diagrams, and technical specifications, which are easily understandable by applications designers and developers. Supports IT estimations process and assist in delivery of detailed IT costings for solutions. Provide expert technical guidance and support to development teams wherever required and oversee the low-level design, build and testing. What's in it for me? Experience: Essential 5+ years of experience in similar role preferably in consumer products originations (Cards/Personal Loans). 10+ years of overall IT industrial / SDLC experience. 5+ years of experience in developing micro services / Restful APIs using Spring boot, Java, Kafka, SQL, DB2, Azure technologies. Excellent analysis and design skills with technical problem-solving. Experience in design principles and standards. Experience in API security and authentication & authorisation patterns. Desirable Degree or equivalent in science, computer science, information technology. Automation and efficiency improvement: CI/CD tools ie Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins or Bamboo. React JS, Redux, Node JS, HTML5, CSS3 & JavaScript. Splunk/App Dynamics. Financial Services Industry experience. Innovative and keep up with emerging technologies. What's it like to work there?
