The Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) is looking for a motivated commercial credit / deal structuring Analyst to join our Corporate and Institutional Bank’s (CIB) debt product team. In this client-facing role, you will be focussed on providing Structured Finance (SF) solutions to our corporate and institutional banking customers and will deliver credit analysis, structuring, negotiating and documentation on a wide variety of complex deals. Building upon your experience gained to date, working within one of the top 4 consulting firms, you’ll collaborate and create sustainable relationships with senior debt product colleagues, internal coverage, analysts, and legal departments to provide the highest level of service to our valued clients. You’ll also lean into your natural ability to organically grow business relationships, and support the identification of prospective SF opportunities with customers that lead to new business, including preparation of marketing materials and terms sheet. You will also: Participate in the broader team objectives of achieving Net Income and ROE plans Contribute to the development of new business to the WIB client base Achieve key strategic milestones, including transaction numbers & diversity Manage associated risk. Arranging term Structured Asset Backed Bond issues in the Australian and New Zealand market, and bespoke financing, unique to client or industry circumstances, including off balance sheet funding structures. Collaborating in the office a minimum of 3 days a week, within our national team of 20, with Tuesday & Thursday being anchor days, you’ll work hands on providing a high level of support for the initial and ongoing success of our clients’ transactions. You’ll build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders both locally and globally. We’ll support your transition to the role, enabling you to develop key internal relationships with the Head of Structured Finance and the team members, Treasury, Debt Capital Markets, Credit, as well as external relationships with SF customers, banks, intermediaries, and investors. What do I need? To be successful you will have the following: Recent experience working with customers that have significant commercial financing needs A high degree of numeracy and financial competence, including financial modelling, complex credit analysis, legal, tax and/or accounting, ideally gained in a top tier consulting firm Formal qualifications in quantitative disciplines such as accounting, finance, engineering, actuarial studies etc will be well regarded Proven ability to work in small deal teams under tight timeframes and other undefined constraints whilst balancing competing priorities A natural curiosity to learn and understand client industry sectors Strong commercial acumen and decision-making skills.
