Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.Project Overview: Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.Job Summary: Bechtel is seeking a Senior Control Systems and Instrumentation (CS&I) Engineer for the Mining & Metals team, based in Brisbane, Australia. This role will report to the Control Systems & Instrumentation Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS), and they will be responsible for the design and specification of general instrumentation, valves and DCS/PLC based control systems. The role will provide CS&I engineering and design support to Bechtel projects seamlessly and with high quality.Major Responsibilities: Material handling and process plant instrumentation design for small/medium/large size projectsPreparation of Scope of Services for Telecommunications system for mining, such as autonomous trucksPreparation of study reports, scopes of work, equipment specifications, functional specification and datasheetsProposal preparation and cost estimatesSelection/specification of instrumentation in accordance with equipment datasheetsDesign/modify panel layout, schematic wiring and termination diagrams for industrial control systemsDeveloping changeover plans for brownfield control system upgradesPLC and Remote IO control system designDesign/layout of plant control roomsLocation/arrangement of DCS and other control cabinets within plantReview supplier documentation to ensure project specifications are satisfiedEducation and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10 – 13 years of relevant experienceExperience with functional safety system and TUV certification is highly regarded.Required Knowledge and Skills: A degree in engineering, demonstrated experience and CPEng status and current RPEQ.Demonstrated experience in Electrical/Instrumentation EngineeringExcellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements.Demonstrated design and engineering experience in the mining and/or oil and gas handling.Have current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to instrumentation and control systems engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures.Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.SPI or Aveva Instrumentation experience is favourableCandidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorshipWorking Rights: Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
