We are on the hunt for a highly motivated and experienced Auto Electrician to join our Site Support team at Newmont, Tanami Operations.
This is a 12-month fixed term role with high likelihood to extend, offering a 7/7 FIFO roster (dayshift only). FIFO either from Brisbane, Darwin or Alice Springs.
As a Site Support Auto Electrician your responsibilities will include:
1. Electrical systems diagnostics & maintenance
2. Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical components on a fleet of newly delivered CAT AD63 articulated underground dump trucks, CAT R2900XE LHD’s and an assortment of ancillary equipment.
3. Complete warranty repairs to newly delivered machines.
4. Work with other HDAL Site Support personnel to provide premium support to the customer and ensure maximum productivity from CAT machinery onsite.
5. Identify electrical issues and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
6. Utilise diagnostic tools to pinpoint faults in complex electrical systems.

About You
A successful teammate will have:
16. Relevant trade qualification or certification in Auto Electrical work
17. Proven experience as an auto electrician; a focus on CAT-specific diagnostic tools is a plus
18. Familiarity with CAT-specific electrical components and their maintenance
19. Underground experience desirable
20. Ability to work on a variety of earthmoving machines, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, etc.
21. Capacity to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment, contributing to a ‘No Harm’ environment
22. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters and other specialised equipment for auto electrical work
23. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability of writing reports on diagnostics findings and repair actions
24. Problem-solving abilities to tackle complex electrical issues efficiently
