Project ManagerAbout the Role:We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee all engineering and project management activities, ensuring all works are completed on time and within budget.The Project Managers are responsible for driving operational safety through a 'care based' approach, managing costs, revenue, and profitability; leading exceptional team performance and sub-contractors with a client focus to achieve established business objectives.The scope of the project involves the delivery of 2 km of new sewer pipeline in Victoria.Alongside working with a supportive team, the successful candidate will gain continuous project exposure, providing excellent opportunities to further develop technical and project management skills.Permanent, Monday to Friday – Occasional Saturday.Work Will Include:Below Ground Sewer WorksDeep excavation and open-cut installation of DN1100 and DN1200 GRP pipelinesMicrotunnelling of DN1200 GRP pipe.FRP and GRP manhole constructionComplex and deep temporary works managementService relocationsKey Responsibilities:Proactively manage and oversee day-to-day operations during the project lifecycle, coordinating performance via Project Supervisors as necessary, to keep on top of all issues, progress, budget cost controls including variations and production controls ensuring that the project is undertaken in line with project financial targets.Contribute to Tender preparation, review methodology and program preparation.Obtain in depth understanding of relevant contracts, schedules and annexures.Responsible for Project Planning and Design including issuing of certificates of currency as required, conducting internal project commencement meetings, undertaking project risk management, review of work breakdown structures and review of schedule and budgets.Develop and communicate, project health and safety plan, environmental management plan, project community plan, project quality plan and project delivery plan.Understand Project scope and ensure cost effective construction methodologies are implemented.
Enact opportunities for improvement where cost and time can be reduced.Ensure project finances are aligned with budget through review and approval of invoices for labour and materials, take corrective action to reduce costs where required.Ensure procurement is approached centrally wherever possible to maximize gains/minimize unnecessary spend.Monitor and maintain the budget, program and productivity to ensure opportunities to improve margin are enacted and issues are identified early with corrective actions put in place.Prepare and deliver accurate weekly and monthly reports and be able to present to Senior Managers on Project Reporting, highlighting issues and opportunities achieve greater success on the project.Ensure full QA and HSEC documentation and systems are properly setup, ensuring Projects have adequate coverage and support.
Fulfilling all responsibilities as per project management plans (PMP, QMP, SMP, CEMP etc.
)Lead safety behaviour on site by setting high standards, challenging and improving standards, maintaining open communication and providing support to all project team members and subcontractors across safety requirements.Responsible for Subcontractor procurement and on-boarding process, including identification of subcontractors, tender analysis, selection, negotiation of agreements, raising of POs, preparation of notice templates and obtaining of contract documents such as insurances and warranties.Qualifications & Experience:5+ years Project Management experience within the Water, Gas and Oil background.Bachelor of Engineering degree (4-year duration) accredited by Engineers Australia at level of Professional Engineer, or equivalent engineering body.Experience in estimation costing for projects and working to a budget.A high level of business and commercial acumen backed by a sound ability to create, read and interpret budgets, financial statements and analyse variance reports.Excellent relationship building, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills.About Us:At Diona, we empower Australian communities by delivering essential services that support a safe, healthy, and fulfilling life.
