Located in the heart of Bathurst, the Panorama Motel offers a warm and friendly service, fantastic facilities, clean rooms and comfortable beds at a great price. We are currently seeking a full-time Chef to join our dynamic Bistro & Bar team at the motel.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative chef who is passionate about delivering excellent food and service in a vibrant setting. You will be part of a dynamic team offering guests not only great food but also entertainment with live music and trivia nights, making Panorama Bistro & Bar a popular destination.
Location: Bathurst, NSW
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum
Role: Full-time
The responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
-Oversee preparing, cooking, and serving dishes, entree, drinks, and other food products in accordance with the menu.
-Design menu and presentation for catering orders and special events.
-Calculate weekly kitchen labour costs, food costs and overall management of the kitchen.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
-Supervise the cleanliness of cooking and preparation area and tools as necessary and always after each service period.
-Supervising and providing directions for cooks and kitchen hands
-Ensuring of food safety of dishes served to guests with special dietaries (allergies, intolerances)
- Receive and inspect the quality of cooking materials
-Ensuring sufficient quantity and quality of food before serving
-Source and order premium quality produce and ingredients as required.
-Ensuring all staff members adhere to hygiene and food preparation standards.
-Make quick decisions and address any issues that may arise during service.
- Assist with the hiring of new kitchen staff as required.
-Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a fun & collaborative atmosphere.
-Maintain a high standard of cleanliness & sanitation both personally and professionally.
To succeed in this role, you are required the following:
-Previous experience of at least 2 years as a Chef
-Demonstrated expertise and experience in culinary techniques and styles
-At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent in a related field.
- A professional attitude in the kitchen at all times.
-Creative eye for detail and 'can do' attitude
- Above all else, have passion for a great food and great customer service
