The Role
As a Sustainment Engineer, you will work alongside the other Engineering Authorities to liaise with stakeholders, conduct engineering assessments, review and support the approval of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), provide support to Urgent Defects (URDEFs), and assist with the development of technical risk assessments. You will demonstrate advanced technical theories, methodologies, principles, and expertise to provide innovative solutions to the current phase of the project, while being alert to cost and schedule constraints.
Your new role will also provide you with the opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and be mentored on Engineering methodology and processes. Enabled by the support of the Engineering Manager, you will also be enrolled in our national Systems Engineering network.
Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
* As the technical interface between the customer, management, and the implementation team, conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements to meet system safety parameters.
* Contribute to the development of methodology, processes, and tools for deployment to sustainment systems including operations planning, management systems for maintenance, engineering, supply support, production, and other technical and support elements of an integrated sustainment system.
* Perform system and product-level performance analyses.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of system metrics.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, securing Raytheon Australia’s reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions to our customers.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications :
* Previous experience : Tertiary Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., electrical, electronic, structural, or mechanical); holding as a minimum tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng or Chartered Engineering Technologist with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
* Experience in an Engineering discipline including involvement in one or more of the following Engineering practices - Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design, and Verification and Validation.
* Experience in effectively representing Engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
* This position may require availability to travel when required.
Highly desirable :
* Previous experience in naval sustainment programs.
