We are looking for a Network Engineer in Sydney to join our Global Network Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering network infrastructure projects in line with identified requirements. You will work with key stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are completed within agreed timelines and meet client standards. Additionally, you will ensure a smooth handover to Network Operations upon project closure.
Responsibilities
* Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, UPSs, and other hardware to company standards.
* Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes in line with architectural guidance.
* Work with project teams to ensure that during discovery phase detailed planning is done to ensure network designs meet business need and minimize risk during operational lifecycle.
* Work with low voltage cabling company and facilities teams to agree cabling design and physical infrastructure – IT rooms sizing and layout, power and cooling, access control.
* Work with vendors on circuit and hardware procurement.
* Work with vendors to scope, plan and procure services to build and test network infrastructure onsite, including outputs for testing and handover.
* Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
* Ensure handover to Network Integration and Operations teams is completed for all projects and changes including, network diagrams and documentation, network monitoring, configuration backups, network maintenance agreements and circuits billing are in place where appropriate.
* Follow company procedures and ITIL best practice for Change, Incident, Capacity and Problem management.
* Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.
* Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services are delivered in line with expectation to ensure successful delivery of services.
* Work with the Network Operations team to help resolve high impact network issues in a timely manner.
Education & Special Trainings
* Current Cisco CCNP, PCNSE or equivalent professional certification.
* ITIL v3 foundation or higher qualification desirable.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 5 years experience and demonstrated ability to design and implement with Cisco LAN, WAN, (Meraki) WLAN and Palo Alto Firewalls based on standards based architecture.
* Applied technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including the OSI model and TCP/IP.
* 5 years experience working on network infrastructure deployments and upgrades essential. Working with third parties to ensure the build out and/or migrations of all aspects of network infrastructure are planned and executed.
* Experience working in multinational company/environment desirable.
* Experience of Data Centre environment, Nexus Switching and F5 load balancing desirable.
* Experience of delivering network infrastructure in a regulated manufacturing environment and manufacturing systems desirable.
* Experience of cloud networking desirable.
* Experience of deploying SD-WAN desirable.
* Applied knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
