We bring together primary care, allied health, dental, mental health and wellbeing, maternity and early childhood, disability services, specialist services, and aged care as one team focussed on clients’ individual needs and goals.The MATSICHS Family Health and Wellbeing Service aims to strengthen the cohesion and capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families. Integrated with IUIH’s primary health care services, FHWB aims to enhance the resilience, connectedness and social/emotional wellbeing of children and families, helping to build strong and resilient communities. The practical services and supports enabled by the FHWBS can build the knowledge and strength of families to provide the environment needed to optimise the health and wellbeing trajectory for their children.About the roleThe purpose of the Family Health and Wellbeing General Manager position is to strategically lead and manage the development, integration, and delivery of high-quality and responsive Family Health and Wellbeing services across MATSICHS. The scope of the position includes leading, mentoring and developing staff; business planning; program leadership and quality assurance and continuous quality improvement across Family Wellbeing Service and Birthing & Early Education Services. The FHWB teams are located across our region and based within the Morayfield, Caboolture, Redcliff and Strathpine hubs. There will be a requirement for the General Manager to travel to each site.Lead and manage the FHWB Service to provide quality, high-value services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families from preconception through to early childhood.Embed the Cultural Integrity Framework and Family Centred Practice Framework to ensure services support the growth and development of the social, emotional, spiritual, and cultural wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.Oversee the ongoing development and refinement of community engagement activities aimed at increasing promotion, awareness, access and uptake of Family Health and Wellbeing Services.Develop strategic and high-level links with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and mainstream health, education and social support agencies to improve access and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.Manage the MATSICHS Family Health and Wellbeing budget/s and implement strategies to monitor and manage the budgets especially brokerage in line with the Funding Agreement and established policies and procedures.Ensure delivery of Family Health and Wellbeing Services is underpinned by the MATSICHS Quality and Safety governance framework that fosters reflective practice, constructive feedback and service improvement, risk prevention and management, and the highest standards in quality and safety of client care.Provide expert and timely advice to the MATSICHS Executive Director and IUIH Leadership Team on policies, legislation, programs and issues of relevance to improve pregnancy, birthing, parenting and childhood health and education outcomes.About youCurrent C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).Current Criminal History Check.Current Working with Children Clearance (QLD Blue Card).Current Disability Worker Screening Check (QLD Yellow Card).Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their leaders and health professionals, while respecting traditional culture, values and ways of doing business.Previous experience working in a senior position in the areas of maternity, birthing, early childhood and/or related Family Services.Commitment to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal community governance of health services.Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to provide a quality client service.Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently in the completion of priorities which may have competing deadlines.Ability to systematically identify opportunities for improvement in work systems and implement changes in collaboration with colleagues.Enthusiasm and ability to work flexibly and to rapidly adapt to changing environments, including shifting priorities and role requirements.What we offerAt IUIH we recognise that we operate in a diverse community and welcome and encourage applications from all ages and genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, refugees, and people with disability.At IUIH ‘Our Collectivity is Our Strength’.We are a diverse and inclusive workplace that invites applications from all people.Be part of Australia’s largest community controlled Aboriginal Health Service.Access to “Growing Our Own Opportunities” through in-house training and programs.Weekly Staff Wellness activities and all staff ‘Gather and Grow’ yarns and award ceremonies.Opportunities to attend community events such as NAIDOC, Rugby League Carnivals and more.11.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take-home pay).To find out more about our services, Community, and work life, visit moretonatsichs.org.auAPPLICATIONS CLOSE – Midday Monday 25th November 2024
