Job Description
We are looking for a night owl, someone who loves to work within a small team in a quiet environment during the overnight shift. The role requires someone with great focus and a solid understanding of the day to day operations of a hotel.You will be working an average of 2-3 shifts per week as a Night auditor or Night Manager. Some of the key duties you will perform are:
1. Ensure the safety and security of the property and the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel's overnight operation.
2. Provide supervision and support to the Front Office team and other departments when required.
3. Ensure strict procedures are followed for all cash/credit, accounting and banking procedures, issue of keys and guest confidentiality.
4. Be aware of room availability and sensitively manage overbooking situations where relocations are required.
5. Carry out reception duties as required.
6. Assist, as required, calls for reservations.
7. Supervise night lobby services including car parking, portering, room service, security and public area cleaning.
8. Attend to any disputes referred, ensuring total guest satisfaction. Resolve disputes personally where possible; avoid referring the guest to another person; resolve the issue and offer recover; act quickly to draw the matter to resolution.
Qualifications
To be successful, you will need:
9. High level of computer literacy- Excel and Opera experience preferred
10. Previous hotel experience in Front Office, preferably as Night Audit and/or Supervisor.
11. Responsible Persons Badge, RSA valid in SA and up to date First Aid Qualification + CPR
12. Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.
13. Strong communication skills.
14. Avid negotiator and diplomatic
15. Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends & public holidays.
