Business/Systems Analysts (Information & Communication Technology)

As part of this growth, there is an immediate requirement for a Lead Business Analyst to join the Information Technology & Digital Services team.
The Lead Business Analyst will oversee the business analysis function within the IT PMO, reporting to the Executive Director, IT Program Delivery.
This role is responsible for leading a team of Business Analysts and spearheading business process improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and align with Western Sydney University's strategic objectives.
The Lead Business Analyst ensures that business requirements are captured, analysed, and translated into actionable solutions, and is instrumental in supporting technology projects and optimising business processes.
Key Duties Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth.
Drive business process improvement across the University, analysing current processes, identifying inefficiencies, and leading initiatives to optimise workflows.
Utilise best practices in business analysis and process improvement to embed continuous improvement.
Lead the gathering, documentation, and validation of business requirements, ensuring completeness and alignment with the University's project objectives.
Establish and enforce quality standards for business analysis outputs, including documentation, process mapping, and impact assessments.
Contribute to project planning and risk management, working with the Executive Director, IT Program Delivery.
Minimum Requirements
In order to be successfully shortlisted for the role, we are seeking seasoned business analysts who possess the following skills and capabilities:
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or extensive equivalent experience at the same or similar level within a large, complex, and rapidly changing organisation.
Relevant Post Graduate Qualification with proven extensive relevant experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Business Analysts.
Demonstrated proficiency in business analysis, with extensive experience in gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements across a range of strategic and operational projects.
Proven track record of leading business process improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing effective solutions to enhance operational performance.
Advanced analytical skills to assess complex issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical, data-driven solutions.
Knowledge of project management principles, with the ability to support project delivery by integrating business analysis practices.
Please note this role is offered on a 3-year, fixed term contract with a salary package of $197,000 to $211,800 inclusive of super.
