The Organisation
The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre (SAFV Centre) works to create an equitable community free from sexual assault and family violence. With 2023 recording the highest rate of victim survivors in 31 years, SAFV Centre’s services have never been in more critical demand.
As a not-for-profit community service organisation, SAFV Centre offers a wide range of free and confidential services for adults, children, and young people who have experienced sexual assault or family violence. The services extend across the Warrnambool. Barwon, Wimmera, and Western Melbourne areas of Victoria (Geelong, Horsham, and Footscray), providing support to over 4,000 clients.
Having achieved such success through the embedding of Barwon Centre Against Sexual Assault (Barwon CASA) and Minerva Community Services (Minerva) in 2016, along with most recent partnership with Emma House Domestic Violence Service, SAFV Centre enters another exciting phase of potential growth under the Governments more recent funding announcements.
