About the Role
The Consultant Psychiatrist performs psychiatric assessment, treatment, physical welfare and medical care for allocated patients within WA correctional facilities.
This role is responsible for recommending evidence-based improvements, clinical standards and considering best practice to achieve improved mental health outcomes and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-level clinical and strategic leadership to prison mental health services
* Maintain an expert awareness of industry research, trends, issues and developments in relation to mental health
* Support the operational management, development and delivery of integrated best practice prison mental health services
* Provide clinical input to mental health care operations
* Review and recommend medical standards, clinical standards and evidence-based clinical improvements
