Business Unit: Cubic Transportation Systems Company Details: This position will be responsible for identifying hardware & software defects and inconsistencies in functionality against defined performance measures and to progress and verify that the system meets and conforms to the System / SubSystem requirements and solution design documents.
This position typically works under limited supervision and direction.
Incumbents of this position will exercise discretionary decision-making authority.
Job Details: Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develop test procedures aligned to system and subsystem requirements Develop test cases and scenarios to perform functional and non-functional (performance, capacity, stress, load, and stability) testing Conduct dry run of test scripts and formal testing to verify system stability and functionality prior to formal Systems Acceptance Testing (SAT) and customer witnessing Conduct regression testing to ensure system has not regressed after software updates and changes have been made to the system Work independently on projects Lead a program of work, working closely with Senior Engineers and Project Managers Be the Test SME for a particular project/domain and the go-to for test expertise Defect Tracking and resolution Develop Test Plans (Both Functional and non-Functional) Prepare and issue system test reports Assist with system integration activities Assist in maintaining configuration control in the test environments Work closely with business architects, system developers and engineering staff with regard to development of test deliverables, system functionality and issues Assist the Test Group with estimation for new projects Assist Cubic with estimation for new bids General Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with Cubic's Quality Management System Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures Other duties as requested Minimum Job Requirements: Qualifications Essential: Bachelor degree or equivalent, preferably in Science or Engineering Desirable: ISTQB Foundation Certification Skills/Experience/Knowledge Essential: Minimum of 5 years experience within a systems test, software testing and processes environment in large projects.
Experienced in writing of SQL queries and oracle databases Experience in using test management tools to develop, write and editing of test cases and test scripts.
Experienced in using Microsoft Office Excellent Communication, Documentation and Record Keeping skills a must Desirable: Experience within the transportation sector, Automated Fare Collection Systems, or financial sector Experience with ticketing systems and/or public transportation operation Experience with Test Automation frameworks and/or Java programming Experience in Test Management tools Personal Qualities Self motivated.
