Learning and Development Advisor The Opportunity Assist with the coordination and delivery of training for employees relating to the technical aspects of Council’s plant operations and mandatory training requirements to ensure workplace health and safety compliance and in accordance with Council’s policies and legislative requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with the coordination and maintenance of Council’s Learning and Development Program Deliver structured and approved training programs to staff Assist with the development and continuous improvement of on and off-the-job training programs in consultation with relevant Departmental Directors and Managers Develop relevant plant training programs and source training providers for specific training needs related to plant, technical and workplace health and safety training Source training providers for specific training needs related to plant, technical and workplace health and safety training Assist with the arrangement of venues and catering for training Liaise with, and maintain necessary documentation for RTOs and Council Assist with the development and implementation of documents relating to plant operators and technical training in consultation with the Principal Fleet and Workshop Advisor and Human Resources Assist and undertake costing elements relating to competency-based training Assist with the development and maintenance of relevant plant operational procedures and policies Prepare and process financial transactions and related correspondence Register correspondence into Council’s Electronic Document Records Management System Contribute to the promotion of the image of the Council and the maximisation of good public relations Liaise with clients, other Council staff, the public, consultants, utility and government authorities in the performance of duties including providing and obtaining information Undertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position e.g. timesheets Assist senior staff to continuously improve work processes and develop new practices as required Participate in training, exercises and response to disaster management and recovery as required Undertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent with skills, competence and training QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTS Compulsory Nationally accredited plant qualifications Queensland C class manual drivers licence Desirable Certificate IV in Training and Assessor or willingness to obtain ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Compulsory Knowledge of plant operations, technical operations and workplace health and safety requirements, along with experience in the provision of training related to these areas Demonstrated knowledge of and liaising with RTOs including ensuring compliance with relevant legislation Well-developed oral and written communication skills, together with excellent customer service skills including liaising with relevant RTOs.
