The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.
The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs over 500 people including contractors.
Position Overview:
Are you a seasoned driller eager to take on new challenges in a high-stakes underground environment? We are on the lookout for a Production Driller to join our cutting-edge underground mining operation at the CSA Mine. This role is pivotal in driving our production efforts forward, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
As a Production Driller, you will be at the forefront of our mining activities, playing a crucial role in achieving daily production targets. You will operate and maintain state-of-the-art drilling rigs, contributing directly to the extraction of copper that is essential to our operations.
Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that all drilling is carried out safely and to the highest standards, as you will be responsible for both the execution and precision of drilling tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform production drilling activities safely and efficiently to meet daily targets.
2. Operate and maintain underground drilling rigs, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
3. Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance on drilling equipment.
4. Accurately record drilling data and report any issues to the Shift Supervisor.
5. Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational protocols.
6. Collaborate with the mining team to ensure seamless operations and achievement of production goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Previous experience in underground production drilling, preferably in copper mining.
2. Proficiency with modern drilling rigs and equipment.
3. Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
5. Valid driver's license.
Conditions:
This position is offered on a residential or drive in drive out (DIDO) or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Sydney or Brisbane on a 7/7 roster. If residential is the preferred commute option, relocation costs and a housing subsidy will be provided to the successful candidate to assist in relocating to Cobar. Candidates interested in the DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependants.

Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions.
