An exciting opportunity exists for Principal House Officers to be part of the Acute General Medicine team. You will have the opportunity to develop a variety of experiences including acute medical emergencies, tertiary subspecialty conditions, complex multimorbidity, regional medicine and subacute restorative care within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.The SCHHS provides healthcare to a rapidly growing population. There has been significant investment in services over the past few years, in particular the establishment of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the Nambour General Hospital redevelopment. The SCHHS also delivers services through hospitals in Gympie, Caloundra and Maleny. The SCHHS is a values-based organisation. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.Key Responsibilities of the role include:Provide high quality, safe care and advice to patients presenting to the clinical areas of the Department of Medicine.Attending acute and elective admissions, review of inpatients, participation in ward rounds with consultants and outpatient clinics.Interacting with other health professionals, including nursing and allied health staff, in provision of ongoing clinical care to patients.Provide supervision, feedback, teaching and support to junior medical staff and/or medical students.Salary rates: $4,966.90 - $5,470.70 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (17.5%) (L4 - L7) (temporary full-time position, 76 hrs p.f.) for up to 12 months.
