Position overview The Business Partner, Finance is responsible for providing accounting, reporting and data analysis support and act as a conduit between Finance / Corporate Services and the wider organisation. To actively engage and collaborate across the business on operating results, forecast and opportunities, and support management on ad-hoc queries from time to time. Additionally, this role supports the Manager, Finance Business Partnering, and is responsible for activities including the preparation of a suite of monthly budgetary and forecasting reports, assist in the annual budget process, organisational key performance indicators and assists in developing business cases. We are looking for: Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance orrelated discipline is required, CA or CPA qualified would be highly regarded. Demonstrated understanding of the accounting principles and standards within a government sector. Financial Management Act 1994, Financial Reporting Directions (FRDs) and Australian Accounting Standards would be an advantage. Exceptional Microsoft suite in particular Excel skills with high level use of various tools, VLOOKUP, pivot tables. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to propose insights and solutions, to stakeholders. Strong stakeholder relationship management skills and the ability to liaise across all levels and deliver high levels of customer service. About the organisation The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) is the primary regulator of Victoria's building and plumbing industries, ensuring compliance with relevant laws that protect the Victorian community and promote confidence in the built environment. The VBA manages practitioner registration, monitors industry standards, and enforces compliance through inspections, investigations, and audits. It also supports industry professionals by providing guidance, education, and resources to uphold safety, durability, and sustainability in building and plumbing work. The Building Plumbing Commission (BPC) is a new entity with specialised regulatory powers to regulate the building and plumbing industries, merging the Victorian Building Authority with Domestic Building Disputes Resolution Victoria (DBDRV) and the Domestic Building Insurance unit of Victorian Managed Insurance Agency (VMIA-DBI).
