The role of Head of IT will perform a critical role in developing and enhancing the operational technology systems, including company infrastructure, security, and technical service teams across the company.
The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the CEA vision, strategy, and programs to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected and risks are mitigated with appropriate safeguards to enable the company to deliver its services successfully and securely.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent will focus on security and compliance, third-party relationship management, risk management, and business continuity to ensure delivery of information service functions in line with strategic direction and thought leadership on transitioning to a more agile operating model for development, including automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in a cloud environment.
This includes working closely with Executive Leaders to implement and oversee programs and systems required to achieve annual growth and profit targets, company goals, objectives, and policies.
Role Accountabilities: Lead the design, development and implementation of the CEA Information Technology strategic and operational plan.
Critically evaluate and recommend software and hardware components using best practice techniques including modelling, simulation and testing to validate the designs of the selected products.
Conduct post-implementation reviews as necessary with regards to project/changes delivery to ensure continual service improvements.
Oversee escalated incidents, requests, tasks, and problems and ensure they are actioned appropriately within the state.
Provide direct and online quality IT support to end users by resolving IT system incidents and documenting related amendments through the appropriate processes.
Direct and manage the monitoring of security threats and engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate and ongoing security controls are in place.
Oversee and maintain the CEA Information Technology platform for the entire CEA operations ensuring appropriate IT controls are implemented and maintained.
Engage with head office to ensure projects and applications are designed and implemented in line with company information security policy and industry best practice.
Provide leadership, direction, support, and mentoring to the team with specific attention to retaining employees and attracting based on the position skillset.
Oversee the management of electronic record keeping, including retention and disposal, of company information and intellectual property.
Keep abreast of technological developments and assess their suitability for use as a component of the CEA infrastructure.
Prepare weekly operational report to CFO on national operational activities.
Manage people compliance against the company policies, ideologies, reporting by ensuring all governance obligations are always met.
Skills and Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in a technology or similar.
Tertiary qualification(s) in a related field/discipline or extensive equivalent experience as it relates to information technology and security.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of current information technology and security industry trends.
Understanding, knowledge, and experience with various cloud services.
Strong people leader and team player with a demonstrated ability to develop team members and create a highly effective and results-driven culture.
Strong business mind with excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Strong interpersonal skills to positively build effective working relationships.
Strong commercial background.
