About the Role
This position forms part of the Electrical Workshop. This unit is responsible for the maintenance, installation and modification of Council's and Trility's Electrical and telemetry infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to, Sewerage Treatment Plants, Sewerage Pump Stations, Water Treatment Facilities, all Parks and Open Space and Property Services Electrical infrastructure. These include, electrical motors, both LV and HV, VF drives, soft starters, conveyors, pumps, control circuitry, BBQ's, general area lighting and all assets that may be included in our Townsville City Council Buildings.
This position will be responsible for maintaining and installing Council's electrical infrastructure to a high standard, working as part of a team, providing guidance and technical advice on electrical installations for Townsville City Council and its customers.
This role is required to participate in the on-call roster and overtime arrangements as required, to resolve out of hours operational issues or emergency works including disaster management.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Tradesperson as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic Queensland. High level of knowledge about and experience in planning and performing electrical repairs, maintenance, modifications, and installation work unsupervised. High level of knowledge of current Queensland Electrical Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice and AS/NZS:3000. Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and complex circuit diagrams. Intermediate computer skills to use Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use Council's Business Management Systems. Good customer service skills to interact with internal or external customers and the general public. Good written and oral communications skills to complete documentation, report writing and planning. Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD) Hazardous Area training and EWP desirable.
