The opportunityWe are on the lookout for a Designer for our Reebok & Champion brands to join our Designworks team, reporting to the Design Manager, based in our Richmond Support Centre. The primary objective of our Designer is to design, develop and create new garments and accessories, or modify existing designs to suit current trends from concept to completion, as well as producing presentation materials that optimally communicate the concept behind the line. With your knowledge and expertise, you will support the product development of your assigned accounts/categories and work with your Design Manager and Brand Team to ensure they meet the desired outcomes for our customers.
Key Responsibilities: Create new seasons based on allocated range/SKU plans, using previous season history, trend research, and repeat styles.Select suitable fabrications to ensure quality and cost align with the brief.Forecast trends and ensure sales budget targets are achieved.Understand and manage key development dates on the critical path.Liaise with offshore suppliers to ensure product timelines are met.Prepare costing tech packs with technical drawings, trims, and specifications.Facilitate sample testing and provide feedback for product improvement.Respond to product performance reviews and incorporate feedback into new season development.Monitor product submissions, including fit samples, swatches, trims, and fabric qualities.Collaborate with QA techs on fit and styling during production.Manage SMS process to ensure timely sample delivery.Maintain and update customer files within agreed timeframes.Ensure adherence to Licensor brand guidelines in design.Track and manage budget to ensure designs meet financial and margin requirements.Conduct post-season analysis for improvements.Lead by example, mentoring and supporting junior team members.Key Skills & Experience: Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or related field.5-6 years' experience in a similar role within the fashion industry.Experience in Sport Licensing.Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, concept ideation, colour theory, and visual presentation.Strong understanding of pattern making, draping, garment fit, construction, and manufacturing.Comprehensive knowledge of textile construction, especially activewear fabrics.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong eye for product design and innovation.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.Just some of the perks we offer you: Generous discounts for you and your family across Brand Collective's stable of brands!RECENTLY LAUNCHED - additional discounts across our parent company, LK Group!Pet friendly workspace - yes, you can bring your dog to work!Invitations to epic sample sales.Paid parental leave, volunteer leave, purchased leave program.Novated Leasing.Generous service awards.Employee Assistance Program with free access to Mental Health Professionals.Apply today to bring brands to life At Brand Collective, our customers come from all walks of life, and so do we!
