The Roleâ
The Maintenance & Grounds General Hand will work in the Grounds and Maintenance Team, under the direction of the Facilities and Maintenance Manager and will be involved in all areas of maintenance of the school grounds, gardens and facilities. This will include routine gardening and general maintenance tasks and involve the moving of equipment and furniture as well as deliveries.
This is an ongoing full-time opportunity primarily based at our Wheelers Hill Campus with occasional travel to other Campuses as required.
Key Duties
* Perform routine gardening maintenance, including weeding, pruning, watering, fertilising, and mulching and Implement pest control and safe herbicide management
* General lawn, path and roadway maintenance, mowing, edge trimming, backpack blowing & pick up of rubbish
* Clearing of stormwater and other pits and gutters
* Prepare facilities for key events e.g. Parent Evenings/Open Day/Assemblies including set up for exams
* Distribution of deliveries and resources as well as traffic control duties
* Minor maintenance tasks such as carpentry, light replacement, doors & locks
* Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in Horticulture/Trade/Maintenance
* Demonstrated experience in OH&S Compliance
* Any relevant machinery, equipment or working with heights licences desirable
* Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
