Responsibilities also include offering legal counsel on property matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, representing legal interests in property committees, assisting with planning and development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leading the legal property function.Our team embraces a hybrid working model, currently attending the state based offices on Tuesday and Thursday.Sounds good?
Read on.Here is a taster of what you can expect in this roleSupporting the Endeavour property team in all aspects related to maintaining the existing network, optimising the network, and growth of the networkNegotiating and documenting agreements for lease and leasesNegotiating and documenting hotel and retail acquisitionsNegotiating and documenting lease renewals and variations as required and managing outsource partners who provide services in this regardProviding legal advice and guidance on property related matters including lease interpretation and landlord disputesHelping ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws impacting site licensing requirementsRepresenting legal at all property committee meetings and vetting all property committee submissions to ensure accuracy and completenessAssisting with council planning applications and disputes in connection with theseAssisting the business in its attempts to unlock development opportunities within its freehold and leasehold assetsCollaborating with cross-functional teams including legal, licensing and property to develop strategies that mitigate legal risks, improve processes, tracking and knowledge sharingLeading the legal property function including coaching and developing junior lawyersWhat do we need from youNow let's talk about youWorking autonomously, with support from the General Counsel - Group, Property and Transition as appropriate, you will have the following experience;Current practising certificate8+ years PQE specifically in Property LawLegal Retail and hospitality experienceSpecialisation in Property LawDeep Understanding of Relevant Legislation (e.g., Retail Leases Acts, planning laws, property law acts)Experience in supervising or mentoring junior lawyersPrior experience working as an in-house lawyer, particularly within a retail or similar commercial organisation, is often highly regardedTop tier law firm background, highly regarded.What's in it for you?The benefits are good too!We offer flexible working in every senseAn exclusive discount card for BWS, Dan Murphy's, Woolworths, BIG W and other Endeavour Group brands, including our ALH pubsMonthly meeting-free daysYour health and wellbeing is your most important asset, and as one of our valued team members, it's our first priority.
