About the Role Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will assist in the design and execution of geological tasks related to the day to day operation of the underground mine. Your key accountabilities will include: Through liaison with the Geologist Project, design and implement drill programs that efficiently address requirements to advance resources and reserves along the pipeline toward mining. Assume responsibility for the management of day to day drilling activities undertaken by Business Partners, including liaison and program monitoring and direction. Collect accurate and reliable geological data from drill core for inclusion in geological models to be used in section interpretation by the Resource Geology Team. Validate data collected and ensure that data compiled is geologically sensible through paper-based and digital interpretation of core logs, importantly including comparison of new information with relevant historic results and interpretations. Continually seek to improve the effectiveness of Geology Department processes and systems through on going evaluation of concepts, methods and procedures. About You BSc degree or MSc in Geological/Geosciences. Operational experience within different geological terrains. Strong analytical skills, with a focus on Continuous Improvement. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Interpersonal skills required to supervise drilling contractors. Administration and Microsoft Office skills.
