Queensland Ambulance Service (Organisation site) Finance Infrastructure and Procurement; Office of the Deputy Commissioner Corporate Services; Head Office; KedronThe Operational Business Intelligence and Planning Unit is responsible for the delivery of operational business intelligence for the QAS. The unit develops, maintains and enhances business intelligence solutions including Cognos cubes and dashboards containing business critical information to enable self-service reporting. The unit is also responsible for the delivery of automated and ad-hoc business activity reports and analysis to support strategic objectives.The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of the QAS business intelligence systems and utilising business intelligence assets to provide quality and timely data and analysis to support operational decision making throughout the QAS. The position is part of a team that provides a high level of technical support to the Director to ensure that timely and appropriate business intelligence solutions are available to the QAS.We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in the effective operation of a multi-tier business intelligence platform using enterprise level tools, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server Relational Database Management Systems (or similar).Demonstrated high level ability to develop, coordinate and implement complex data design, collection, interpretation, analysis and practical reporting solutions using business intelligence systems.Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to problem solve technical challenges and develop innovative solutions to deliver high quality business intelligence solutions.Demonstrated high level skills in research, negotiation, consultation, and communication (written and verbal), including the ability to liaise with a range of internal and external technical and business clients in an environment of change.Demonstrated reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments, with the proven ability to set realistic goals, establish work priorities and manage workloads with flexibility.Proven ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a multi-disciplinary team environment to contribute to the ongoing management and delivery of time-critical business intelligence activities.The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:Whilst not mandatory, a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science and/or equivalent will be highly regarded.Experience with SQL, T/SQL, PL/SQL, Cognos Transformer and Framework Manager is highly desirable.Experience with PowerBI or similar is highly desirable.Knowledge and experience in relational and dimensional data modelling methodologies is highly desirable.Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python) is highly desirable.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/601502/24Closing Date: Friday, 15th November 2024Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
