We’re looking for a Senior Water Resources Engineer - Hydraulic Modellingto join our Sydney Civil & Water Resources Team .

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
1. Delivery and accountability for technical assignments, including design of water related infrastructure for major infrastructure, mining, energy and development projects.
2. Delivery and accountability for technical assignments, including assessment of water related impacts - hydrologic, flooding, stormwater, water balance, Source modelling, water sensitive urban design, and water quality - associated with major infrastructure, mining and development projects
3. Discipline lead and undertaking technical assignments and use of software packages, in areas of hydrologic, flooding, stormwater, water sensitive urban design and water quality. This would include flood modelling in TUFLOW and other packages, stormwater and mine water management design (eg. DRAINS, AutoCAD, 12D), water balance (GoldSim) and water quality software (eg. MUSIC).
4. Technical and project management contributions across projects, including multi-disciplinary aspects.
5. Development of water related inputs to environmental assessments.
6. Provide deliverables to a high quality standard and provide technical review of team members deliverables to achieve requirements of GHD’s quality system and client requirements.
7. Oversight of projects in a Project Directorship role while working with GHD’s project delivery procedures.
8. Project manage and coordinate allocated projects, coordinating inputs from various professionals, as needed.
9. Contribute to developing and mentoring junior team members.
10. Contribute to the development of GHD’s knowledge and skills in industry.
11. Assist in the securing projects.
12. Assist in the promotion of GHD’s strategy, business ethics and values, internally and externally.
What you will bring to the team:
13. Strong understanding of the environmental issues with relation to the management of surface water, particularly for energy and resource clients. The ability to appropriately scope and carry out the corresponding required assessments in accordance with NSW requirements.
14. Coordinate and review hydrology and hydraulic modelling to inform planning studies through to detailed design of new infrastructure
15. Advanced analytical and spreadsheet abilities. Intermediate GIS capability preferred.
16. Candidates with site or construction based experience looking to apply practical knowledge to complex assessments and design are encouraged.
17. Appreciation for CAD (eg 12D, Civil3D, AutoCAD) is vital for coordination of design and drafting team members.
18. Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to brief and budget
19. A business and relationship development attitude to enhance our client portfolio and project delivery
20. Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
21. An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities
22. Project management skills of water resources projects, including preparation and review of fee proposals, management of resources, budget, risks and health and safety
23. Bachelor of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
