Located in Melbourne, the National Optus Business Centre Business Development Manager is responsible for attracting new customers and retaining existing ones to increase the number of Optus Business Centre Net Adds. This role focuses on driving growth in the Mid-Market Segment, targeting organisations with 20- employees. The position is nationwide and not affiliated with any one territory.
The day to day
1. Collaborate with the 28 business centres, the Partner Sales Manager, and the Solutions Consultant to achieve comprehensive sales results and expand market reach.
2. Create opportunities from prospect lists using a mix of digital engagement, cold calling, and other lead generation techniques.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, serving as the primary point of contact for sales-related inquiries and support for major customers.
4. Meet business targets such as new gross ads in mobiles, mobile broadband, and fixed voice/data.
5. Provide customers with a unique experience and engage with senior executives from various organisations.
6. Lead and shape the sales strategy for partners, working with them to achieve the best results and targeting the most valuable customers across the country.
7. Develop and execute a sales plan that will enable a constantly renewed and updated opportunity pipeline.
8. Coach sales teams to identify, pursue, and close high-value deals through a strong understanding of the territory and best practice approaches.

9. Extensive Senior Business Development experience.
10. Commercially astute with a sound understanding of business drivers.
11. Experience in operating in both relationship and transactional sales and marketing environments.
12. Proven sales track record in achieving growth through acquisition strategies and sales teams.
13. Extensive relationship/strategic sales experience within the Telecommunications and/or IT sectors.
14. Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal, to internal and external senior executives.
15. Strong and effective negotiation skills.
16. Solid product and industry knowledge.
