About - Student Experience
The role sits within the Student Experience Team, who provide a range of services to the broader Faculty in leading and implementing the strategies associated with the faculty’s student experience, centred on improving various facets of our students' educational journey.
About the Role
The Indigenous Student Engagement, Lead drives initiatives that promote Indigenous student pathways into engineering and IT, aligning with FEIT's Indigenous strategy and the University's Murmuk Djerring plan. Collaborating with Indigenous communities, Traditional Knowledge Holders, and stakeholders, the role leads programs such as the Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS) and outreach initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Student Experience, the role involves event delivery, project coordination, and continuous evaluation to ensure meaningful progress toward Indigenous engagement and education goals.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensure timely and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders throughout the development and implementation of Indigenous initiatives.
* Provide high-level project and administrative coordination for initiatives such as Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS), Residential Indigenous Science Experience (RISE).
* Coordinate student recruitment, program delivery, OHS risk assessments, and liaison with partnering universities and Indigenous units.
* Coordinate sponsorship opportunities and effectively manage key stakeholders.
Empower Indigenous students through impactful programs, meaningful collaborations, and leadership in diversity-focused initiatives.
About You
The ideal candidate excels in communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage projects and engage stakeholders effectively. They possess strong people skills, cultural sensitivity, and the confidence to navigate diverse settings.
You will also have:
* Effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to foster strong collaborations to ensure effective delivery of project outcomes.
* The ability to coordinate and prepare project documentation, including project plans, schedules, implementation plans, and evaluations.
