The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Senior Subcontracts Specialist to join our team.
The Senior Subcontracts Specialist is responsible for conducting complex strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier management in accordance with our policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Identify gaps in our supply chain's capability to meet business needs.
2. Conduct pre-award sourcing activities using RF(x) suite of documentation.
3. Conduct difficult and often complex high-risk procurements.
4. Review proposals, negotiate contractual documentation, and select or recommend suppliers.
5. Carry out post-award contract execution and contract administration.
7. Ensure that we conduct our contractual business in compliance with all Export and Import Control requirements.
8. Provide support, advice, training, and education to other departments on SM&P policies, procedures, and contractual matters to protect our commercial interests.
9. Development of user guides and training materials.
10. Mentor Subcontracts Specialists and provide guidance on complex subcontracting issues.
Experience/Qualifications
* Essential:
o Tertiary qualification in a law or business-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
o 10 years' experience in high-value contract/subcontract management and administration.
o Ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation, ensuring solutions are consistent with organisation objectives.
o Strong negotiation skills.
o Interpersonal skills to develop trust and influence.
o Proven ability to manage multiple subcontracts and meet deadlines.
o The ability to work accurately and unsupervised, and the ability to prioritise work as required and manage external/internal resources.
o Understanding of budgets, cost control, and financial performance management.
o Demonstrate ability to meet and adhere to critical deadlines.
* Desirable:
o Understanding of Defence Contracting policies and procedures.
o Understanding of category / commodity management.
Eligibility
* Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
* Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
* You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role.
