About the opportunity A rare opportunity has emerged for an experienced Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager to join this global leader in underground mining equipment. This pivotal role involves leading a team of electrical and automation engineers to deliver advanced electrical and automation solutions, primarily for longwall mining systems. You'll oversee projects to ensure technical and automation deliverables meet the highest quality standards, comply with industry regulations and standards, and are completed on time and within budget. Collaborating with international partners, you will drive innovation and reinforce the company's reputation for excellence in the mining sector. Key responsibilities Lead and guide a team to deliver high-quality electrical and automation engineering solutions, overseeing projects and ensuring successful delivery while mentoring and guiding junior engineers. Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures. Oversee the design and implementation of electrical and automation systems, ensuring certification, regulatory compliance, and maintaining product quality. Manage system integration, collaborating with global teams, including overseas partners. Build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders, addressing technical challenges effectively. Provide technical expertise on schematics, control systems, and automation products, contributing to the design and development of new products and features. Ensure quality and resource optimisation across projects within set timelines by following established engineering processes. Monitor budgets and schedules to maintain project efficiency. Manage engineering changes and maintain accurate documentation processes. Identify and implement improvements to enhance project processes, focusing on innovation and maintaining high standards. About You Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with expertise in automation and control systems (longwall mining experience highly regarded). Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide engineering teams. Strong project management experience, balancing technical and commercial priorities. Proficiency in managing budgets, schedules, and resource planning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders effectively.
