Council is seeking an experienced and creative environment professional to lead the Environment Unit in the delivery of the organisations Environment Strategy, Climate Emergency Plan, Zeron Net Emissions Plan and related polices, plans and strategic documents.
The position oversees a team of highly capable and passionate staff responsible for the organisations climate change, biodiversity, environmental engagement and natural resource management functions. The successful candidate will possess highly developed leadership skills, an understanding of the legislative, policy and political context of local government, a commitment to genuine and collaborative community and stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence change within a large organisation.
The position will suit someone with a strategic mindset who can position the team to achieve its vision, while also providing guidance about day to day operational issues as they arise.
