The Opportunity
Emergency Mental Health Service (EMHS) are seeking interest from suitably qualified staff to fill multiple positions that are likely to arise throughout the year. About You
We are looking for staff who:
* Are registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a qualification in mental health practice
* Have at least 3 years post registration experience
* Experience in acute and/or child and adolescent mental health settings
The Role
* The Emergency Mental Health Nurse Consultant (EMHNC) provides clinical mental health nursing expertise for children, adolescents, peri-natal women and their families with mental health issues.
* The EMHNC is accountable for delivering specialist mental health nursing assessment, risk assessment and clinical intervention to consumers with complex/immediate mental health needs.
* The EMHNC is responsible for ensuring follow up/referral for mental health consumers within the Paediatric Emergency Department and inpatient areas WCH as required

We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provide important community-based services, of which the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is an integral part.
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services / perinatal women.
The Emergency Mental Health Service (EMHS) is a Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS), nursing led specialist service supported by Psychiatry, located at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
EMHS provides emergency mental health assessment and intervention to clients in the Emergency Department as well as young people who are admitted to medical wards and women who attend the women’s assessment service outside of normal business hours.
