About the Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director General Delivery & Operations, the role centres on high-level leadership through collaborative efforts with both internal and external stakeholders and staff. This involves not only steering the day-to-day operations but also influencing strategic decisions by providing authoritative advice and fostering strong relationships across various levels of government and the public sector.
The Executive Director, Infrastructure Operations will:
1. Lead the delivery of operational asset management services across the state to optimise performance of the department's assets, as well as meet individual school and community needs.
2. Oversee the development of enhanced infrastructure safety compliance and assurance processes and procedures to identify, manage and mitigate safety risks across all stages of the infrastructure life cycle.
3. Lead the development and review of programs, policies, procedures and related systems to support the strategic direction of the department for asset maintenance and infrastructure safety; inclusive of school security, emergencies and natural disasters.
The role will provide strategic guidance to the Assistant Director- General, Deputy Director- General and the broader Executive Management Team (EMT) to ensure informed asset management decision making align with broader government initiatives and department priorities. Additionally, the role will lead strategic planning for infrastructure operations to achieve key outcomes and will drive the identification of strategic issues and risks associated with asset management, promoting a culture of consultation and collaboration.
