The Technical Lead, Personal Lending role will provide technical leadership and guidance to the Product Originations team and Lending project in the design, development, maintenance, support of the bank's brand-new personal lending platform. You will collaborate closely with team members within the Product Originations team, as well as those from across the organisation that support origination processes (e.g. Credit Risk, Products etc.). You will become the team and project's 'go to' person for anything that requires additional technical expertise and work very closely with the technology vendor and Senior Leader, Product Originations towards a successful go-live implementation.
This role is offered as 12 months Fixed Term Contract with potential extension or permanency.
Responsibilities Technical Leadership: provide expert technical leadership and guidance to the development team and leadership of the Product Originations team. This may be in the form of advice on operational activities incl. incidents, problem resolution and advisory to integration projects. Solution Architecture: collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to design scalable, reliable, and secure customer platform solutions that meet business requirements, strategic goals and security and compliance requirements. Software Development: lead and actively participate in the development, implementation, and enhancement of customer platform applications, adhering to coding best practices, quality standards, and industry trends. Team Collaboration: work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, delivery leads and analysts, to ensure effective collaboration and seamless integration of customer platforms with other systems and applications. Technical Mentoring: provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their technical growth and promoting knowledge sharing within the team. Technical Documentation: create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, technical standards and guidelines, support documentation and system documentation, to ensure clarity and maintainability of customer platform solutions. Performance Optimisation: identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement within member platforms, collaborating with the team to implement optimisation strategies. Quality Assurance: collaborate to define testing strategies, perform code reviews, and ensure the delivery of high-quality customer platform solutions. About you You will bring strong knowledge in personal lending process and demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of technology projects for financial institutions. You will have experience creating and supporting technology that delights both customers and the employees supporting those customers.
Although technical consultancy is part of this role, this is not the job for a consultant. You will be 'on the tools' and helping to deliver an exciting, new personal lending platform for People First Bank with your team.
Knowledge and Experience Extensive experience in a senior role for IT operations, preferably in a Technical Lead capacity. Experience leading people (internal staff and vendor partners) in software development or system configuration efforts. Experience handling incoming and outgoing escalations where required. Experience working closely with others to supplement technical knowledge across the team. A thorough understanding on personal lending processes in a financial institution is a must. Expertise in managing incidents, problem and change management using ITIL standards. Experience in configuring or managing a Loan Origination System (LOS) and how the end-to-end personal lending process can be modelled using technology. Experience with third-party integrations to supplement the lending process (e.g., credit bureau interactions, comprehensive decisioning, PPSR etc.). Experience with solution design, software development and integration projects. Desirable (Not necessary but will be highly regarded) Technical familiarity with current and/or future-state (preferred) systems is beneficial. Working knowledge of Servicenow, Jira and Confluence. Familiarity with multiple delivery methodologies and the ability to adapt to the selected project methodology. Experience working closely with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms such as IBM FileNet or Hyland OnBase and how these supplement the LOS and business outcomes.
